Narval was founded by Duška Starcevic in 2008, and initially set out to address the Scandinavian market. Having worked in real estate for many years, she realised that many Scandinavians were interested in holiday homes, but were being neglected. So she set up Narval, based in Novigrad, and established partners in Sweden and Finland, to bring all types of property to Scandinavia, from all over Istria.
Duška sums up her approach very simply: ‘I’ll look after you, you’re in safe hands’. “Buying a house is often only my first step with customers,” she explained. “I develop long-term relationships with many, solving problems and organising whatever they need, such as restorations, rentals and property management.” But Duška takes her assistance much further, also owning a tourist agency – the two are in the same office – to help customers rent their properties, and arrange things for them and their guests to do. “And it goes even further,” said Duška. “Over the years I’ve organised trips, parties, weddings and even a concert!”
Duška still visits Scandinavia every year and regularly attends real estate fairs in Sweden. But offering such support, it’s not surprising Narval today has customers from all over the world. As Duška says, “I try to minimise my customers’ worries, make them feel safe and get the best possible deal.”
Talk to Duška for a few minutes and her enthusiasm shines through. “I love introducing people to my country,” she said, “ and I’ve made a lot of new friends over the years. I’m very straight-forward – satisfied customers make me happy, and I like being happy!”

Location
At the roundabout on the edge of Novigrad, turn towards the centre (that is a left turn if coming from Porec, right turn from Umag or straight on from Buje and the motorway). You turn into Murve Ulica – the same street as Narval. 200m on, you will come to a roundabout with a large anchor in the middle: Narval is on this roundabout. There is plenty of parking in the area: white spaces are free of charge, blue ones are paid from May until the end of September.
